Wayne Cooper dress, David Lawrence belt, Guess by Marciano heels, ck sunnies, pearls from Chantal B
I know I’ve gone a bit colour crazy recently but there’s no denying that I love my black dresses. All 50 of them to be exact. With such outrageous numbers, I was quite amazed scrolling through my post history that I have, up until now, only featured two on this site: here and here (excluding my shonky attempts to pass shirts/jumpers off as dresses here and here).
So to give them a little bit more spotlight, I’m going to endeavour t0 feature some of these in future posts and showcase the wonderful things that make special little black dresses go va va voom. You know what I’m talking about. The dresses that when put on, make other dresses shy away into a little boring dress-wallflower corner.
Already in my head, I can think of a dozen of my go-to black dresses that never disappoint. The reliable ones that you can put on a million times and time and time again will turn heads. The dresses that have an ego of their own.
This Wayne Cooper number is one such dress that I’ve worn a handful of times (that counts as fairly frequently in my books). It’s got a beautiful velvet finish with animal textures woven through, slight shoulder pads for extra ferocity and a wonderful cut with modest length but killer fit. What’s there not to love?
